Where Does Pilates Come From?

Most people lean toward this form of focused exercise because it offers a variety of positions. Now, Joseph Pilates derived many of the poses from yoga asanas. With a background in yoga, meditation, martial arts, gymnastic and boxing, he took the best part of each developing a program to place the mind and muscle in tune. So the history of pilates is steeped in yoga, meditation and other ancients forms of wholeness.

Physicality

Pilates benefits the spine, circulation system, organs and joints. Therefore, there is no age group that cannot work with this pilates program. Pilates almost feels like a combination of physical fitness workout and physical therapy.
